A few noob questions
Ok so heres a few questions that i have that i feel like askign ingame would make ppl want to slap me.
What is running? ppl are always talking about rinning places for gold what does that mean? Are prices of items different in areas because it would seem like a great way to make money, and do the prices fluctuate? Do the different expansion packs change the game completely? Is there the same map, like can i play with friends with other exp. packs in the prophecies campaign areas? Where can i find iron, steel etc. ingots? because i want some better items? Can you quit a guild afer youve joined? I pickup alot of tems that just say stuff like Energy +(random number) how do i use them? If you had to make money one easy way what would it be? thx for any and all help Last edited by hoffster12; Jun 27, 2008 at 01:22 AM // 01:22.. |

-Running is when another player gets you somewere in the game you want to be, most run to droknars forge were you can get maxed armor.
-Some iteams are more rare than others, and farther in the game better weapons, and specific locations have specific iteams, for example the underworld is only place to get an glob of ectoplasm (used to be rare until past nerf) and when these nefrs happen it can make rare iteams fluctuate in prices because opf their rarity going down. -Other expantions bring a different staryline, map and helps your charecter evole in the game, you can still play with your friends if they have been to the place you are if they have that expantion. -Common materials are sometimes found in drops, but most common way to get them is either by buying them from NPC or other players and salvaging them from other drops. to salvage, you just buy a salvage kit and use it on it. -To quit a guild, just hover over the head next to your name and click it and click leave guild, simple! -Best way to amke money is to go through the storyline and save all the money you get from selling and random rewards, other than that you can farm areas. If you ned more help on builds and stuff to that extent go to http://www.pvxwiki.com. Sorry about my spelling. I cant help that, typing too fast than my brain works, lol. Energy offhands can be used by any profession. To use them, double click it (you need a 1 handed weapon, a wand or axe/spear/sword etc...). The attribute makes it perform better. For example, if you have a energy+12 (r9 water magic) offhand and you only have 3 in water magic, you get 1/2 of the enrgy. So you get +6 energy.

The "running" consists of the experienced player actually running/dodging to the destination, while the paying customer sits somewhere safe. When the runner zones through to a new area, you are popped into that area also.
You can find a lot of general and explicit game info on the wiki websites: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page (this one is available in-game by pressing Help on the Menu or F10) http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page (older one with the pvxwiki)

I would suggest not worrying about making money yet. Just enjoy the game. Follow the storyline and you will really start understanding the game. Once you understand it you will be able to earn money faster.

Running happens in Prophesies because all towns and cities are open.
edited Towns in the other gw expansions are closed so running isnt really worthwhile. If your in a party with a group even if you die when the runner gets to the town you all get there. Scamming Someone offers to sell you armour which is a useless sale as you cannot wear it. Tries to sell you a weapon thats customised to them again usless to you. They may offer something good then swap the item just before you accept it. They could also offer to run you somewhere and then after taking the money just leave. But, running can also mean simply doing something for you or with you. For example, someone may say they are "running" a mission, when what they mean is, they will solo it (or 600/smite) and bring you along. Quote:
However, you may find other things like rare weapons are more/less popular in one region than another and sell for more/less. Quote:
